Excellence in Agriculture Award goes to Summer Land Camels

Summer Land Camels was recently awarded the Excellence in Agriculture Award at the 2019 Scenic Rim Business Awards.

The awards night was hosted by the Scenic Rim Regional Council at The Centre in Beaudesert.  It was a wonderful evening celebrating the diversity and success of businesses from across the region.

The 2019 Business Excellence Awards were presented in the categories of: Tourism, Accommodation and Hospitality; Retail; Professional and Community Services; Transport, Logistics, Manufacturing and Mining; Trades and Construction; and Agriculture.

We were pleased that Summer Land Camels was named as a finalist in three categories – Agriculture, Tourism Accommodation and Hospitality and Transport, Logistics, Manufacturing and Mining.

A field of 71 Nominations from 51 Businesses

Mayor Greg Christensen said the calibre of nominations was high with a record field of 71 nominations from 51 businesses across the Scenic Rim.

Cr Christensen welcomed Minister for Employment and Small Business and Minister for Training and Skills Development Shannon Fentiman, Member for Wright Scott Buchholz and Member for Scenic Rim Jon Krause to the awards, which celebrated the businesses driving the region’s economic growth.

The judging criteria included a range of factors including businesses’ outstanding customer service, environmental awareness, understanding of their target markets, well-defined and understood business strategy, rigorous systems, effective risk management, financial performance and a clear commitment to excellence in all facets of their operation.

We would like to thank Scenic Rim Regional Council for their ongoing support of Summer Land Camels and all businesses in the region. 

We congratulate Tinamba Turf for taking out the Business of the Year Award and congratulate the following category winners:
