Camel Milk helps my Leaky Gut and IBD

Camel Milk helps my Leaky Gut and IBD

Thanks to Monica Urbina for sharing her story with us:

“I'm enjoying your fresh camel milk and more importantly it's helping my gut health.

After having embarked on the GAPS diet in the past to fix my leaky gut, I know I have to be careful with what I consume even now.

I have been suffering from IBD (Inflammatory bowel disease) for about 12 years.  During that time, I used to get hives after eating anything. Someone informed me of 'leaky gut' so I removed gluten and dairy from my diet to try and repair my gut lining. My hives went away.  After many years of watching my diet as well as using gut healing formulas I now have low gluten foods like sourdough spelt bread and a bit of dairy in the form of cow's milk yoghurt and some cheeses such as camembert.

Around Eastertime, I was experiencing abdominal discomfort, bloating and constipation/diarrhea, after eating some brioche, as well as consuming more than usual amounts of cow milk. This resulted in abdominal bloating and stabbing pain which was very difficult to stop.

On the Summer Land Camels’ website, I read about someone's experience of improving their gut by consuming camel milk first thing in the morning, which made me interested to try it. I also found out that it is high in iron, which I have low stores of.

I decided to go and buy one litre and I started with drinking about 30 ml in the morning.  From day one, I experienced improvement in my symptoms right away including my usual night-time painful abdominal cramping, which stopped.

I worked up to drinking about a cup of your fresh camel milk first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I got used to the taste which I now really like. I love how fresh it is and I'm now buying it all the time.

Also, I no longer need to buy anything else to improve my diarrhoea and constipation which I typically got on bad days.  Everything improved and kept on improving. One other bonus is that camel milk is high in iron so that will also help with my low iron. It is also rich in Lactoferrin which plays a role in balancing iron.

I can feel the difference when I stop drinking Camel Milk, so I think it’s worthwhile not stopping, once you feel the benefits.”
